Hummel’s Brilliant Showpiece — Arranged for Concert Band by Marc Oliver
Johann Nepomuk Hummel (1778–1837) was one of the most celebrated pianists and composers of the early Romantic era — a student of Mozart, a friend of Haydn, and a rival of Beethoven. His music bridges the elegance of the Classical style with the brilliance and virtuosity of the emerging Romantic period. Eclipse is a sparkling, energetic showpiece that exemplifies Hummel’s gift for melodic charm and technical flair.
This edition presents Eclipse in a concert band arrangement by Marc Oliver, bringing Hummel’s brilliant writing to life with the full color and energy of the wind ensemble. An exciting and crowd-pleasing addition to any concert band program.
