Bruckner's Serene Evening Sky — Arranged by Zak Rahal
Anton Bruckner (1824–1896) composed Der Abendhimmel (“The Evening Sky”) as one of his shorter choral works — a quietly beautiful piece that reflects the same spirit of serene, awe-struck contemplation before the grandeur of nature that pervades his great symphonies. Bruckner was a deeply devout man, and his sacred and secular choral works alike are infused with a quality of spiritual stillness and wonder. Der Abendhimmel captures the hushed beauty of an evening sky with characteristic simplicity and harmonic depth.
This edition presents Der Abendhimmel in an arrangement by Zak Rahal, ideal for choral ensembles and sacred concert programs.
