Elgar's Pomp and Circumstance March No. 5 — Arranged for Concert Band by M. Randall McDonald

Edward Elgar's Pomp and Circumstance Marches are among the most celebrated works in the British orchestral repertoire, and while March No. 1 (with its famous “Land of Hope and Glory” trio) is the best known, March No. 5 in C Major is a magnificent work in its own right — bold, ceremonial, and full of the noble grandeur that defines Elgar's finest music. Less frequently performed than its famous sibling, it is a discovery waiting to be made by concert band audiences.

This arrangement by M. Randall McDonald — a specialist in bringing overlooked orchestral works into the concert band repertoire — preserves all the majesty and sweep of Elgar's original. An ideal choice for formal concerts, graduation ceremonies, and any program seeking music of genuine ceremonial grandeur.
