About Julius Fučík
Julius Fučík (1872–1916) was a Czech composer and bandmaster best known for his march Einzug der Gladiatoren — the piece the world knows as the classic circus march. Beyond that ubiquitous tune, Fučík composed a rich catalog of character pieces and marches that reveal a composer of genuine wit and melodic invention. Der alte Brummbar is among his most beloved comic works.
