About Edvard Grieg
Edvard Grieg (1843–1907) was Norway’s greatest composer and one of the defining voices of Romantic nationalism in music. His Piano Concerto in A minor (1868) is the cornerstone of his orchestral output and one of the most performed concertos in the world. The Third Movement — a rondo marked Allegro moderato molto e marcato — draws on the spirit of Norwegian folk dance and builds with irresistible momentum to one of the most jubilant and satisfying conclusions in the entire concerto repertoire.
