Mozart's Graceful Slow Movement — Arranged for Soprano Saxophone by Peter Gross
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756–1791) composed his Symphony No. 35 in D major, K. 385, known as the "Haffner" Symphony, in 1782 for the Haffner family of Salzburg. The Andante slow movement is one of Mozart's most graceful and singing slow movements — a lyrical, gently flowing melody of great warmth and elegance. This edition presents the Haffner Andante in an arrangement for soprano saxophone and piano by Peter Gross, giving soprano saxophonists a lyrical and expressive recital piece from one of Mozart's finest symphonies.
