It is Mozart at his most inventive and joyful, a work that encapsulates the opera's blend of comedy, mystery, and Masonic symbolism in just a few minutes of music. About Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756–1791) was one of the most prodigiously gifted composers in the history of Western music. The Magic Flute (Die Zauberflöte, K. 620), his final opera, was completed just weeks before his death in 1791 and premiered in Vienna to immediate popular success. A Singspiel in the German tradition, it weaves together fairy tale, comedy, and Masonic allegory into one of the most beloved and frequently performed operas in the repertoire. Its overture — with its three solemn chords and sparkling fugal Allegro — is a masterpiece in miniature.
